Announcing Equity Principal Auditions for 2008-2009 Season

Lunch Break: 2:00 – 3:00 pm

Indiana Repertory Theatre will hold local Equity Principal Auditions. Auditioners must be paid-up members of AEA (non-Equity actors will be seen only if there is time) and are encouraged to call the IRT (317-635-5277) for an appointment.    "Walk-ins" are advised that there is no guarantee that they will be seen.  AEA members will be accommodated first for open "walk-in" slots, followed by Equity Membership Candidates, followed by non-Equity auditioners. These auditions are not for a specific production.  Two one-minute contrasting monologues are requested.  Please bring updated resume, headshot and your Equity card.  Walk-ins, please do not arrive at the theatre earlier than 10:00 a.m. on the day of auditions to sign up for the waiting list.  Please call the number above with questions. 

Suggested parking is in Circle Center Mall garages.  Enter IRT through east set of doors (not IRT ticket office doors) and take elevator to 3rd floor.

And Announcing Child Actor Auditions

Seeking boys and girls, 7-13 years old

Date: Monday and Tuesday, August 4 & 5, 2008

Time: 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.

Call backs: Thursday, August 7 at 6:00 p.m.

Each child should prepare a one-minute monologue or story that is age-appropriate.  Please bring updated resume and headshot.  To schedule an audition, please call (317) 635-5277 or e-mail frontdesk@irtlive.com

Auditions will be scheduled to begin every 1/2 hour.  Parents should arrive with their child at least 10 minutes early to check in.  A parent/guardian must stay in the building during their child's audition.  A waiting area will be provided.

Role breakdown: 

• A Christmas Carol:  casting 10 children 7-13 years old; four girls and 6 boys.  All ethnicities welcome.   Rehearsals begin 10/18/08.  Performances run 11/3/08 - 12/28/08
• Macbeth:  casting 3 boys 10-13 years old.  All ethnicities welcome.  Rehearsals begin 9/16/08.  Performances run 10/8/08 - 11/9/08
• To Kill a Mockingbird:  casting 3 children 9-13 years old:  "Scout," 9-11 year old girl.  "Dill," 8-10 year old boy. "Jem," 12-13 year old boy.  Rehearsals begin 12/30/09/  Performances run 1/21/08-2/21/08.
