YPiP challenges area junior and senior high school students to write
original plays. Young writers are invited to submit plays of up to 30
minutes in length, from September until December 1, 2009. The selected
semi-finalists will enjoy a personal playwriting workshop with the IRT’s
professional dramaturgs, directors and actors where they will learn to
develop their writing skills.

The Bonderman is for adult playwrights writing plays for youth. The purpose of this biennial workshop is to encourage writers to create
artistic theatrical scripts for young audiences. It provides a
forum through which each playwright receives constructive criticism and
the support of a development team consisting of a professional director
and dramaturg. Plays will be cast from professional, experienced
age-appropriate actors from Central Indiana.
