YPiP challenges area junior and senior high school students to write original plays. Submission deadline December 3, 2010. The selected semi-finalists will enjoy a personal playwriting workshop with the IRT’s professional dramaturgs, directors and actors where they will learn to develop their writing skills.

The Bonderman is for adult playwrights writing plays for youth. The purpose of this biennial workshop is to encourage writers to create artistic theatrical scripts for young audiences. It provides a forum through which each playwright receives constructive criticism and the support of a development team consisting of a professional director and dramaturg. Plays will be cast from professional, experienced age-appropriate actors from Central Indiana. Submission deadline August 16, 2010.

The Indiana Repertory Theatre is committed to producing new work onboth stages. Please submit your script through a literary agent, or by e-mail accompanied by a letter of recommendation from a theatreprofessional (an artistic director or literary manager at aprofessional or university theatre). Scripts sent electronically (rroberts@irtlive.com)are preferred. If this is not possible, please submit a letter of inquiry, along with a brief synopsis of the play and ten pages of sample dialogue.
