by Steven Dietz
Becky wants a new car. Her job is kind of a grind, her marriage is maybe a little bit stale, and her 26-year-old son still hasn’t left home. But when she meets a lonely, wealthy widower, Becky realizes what she really wants is a new life. Mistaken identity meets midlife crisis as this sweet, goofy comedy bubbles over the brim of the stage.
This play was commissioned by a man as a birthday present for his wife! Read the fascinating story here.

Indy's Phoenix Theatre is opening Steven Dietz's Yankee Tavern just as our production of Oxford Financial Group presents Becky's New Car comes to a close. While Becky's New Car is an interactive comedy, Yankee Tavern is a gripping, conspiratorial tour de force set in a run-down bar in post-9/11 Lower Manhattan. The IRT and Phoenix Theatres are pleased to offer both plays for only $50. Call the IRT box office at 317-635-5252 for this offer; it is not available online.
