Summer Conservatory Title
Summer Conservatory Group

The IRT Summer Conservatory for Youth experience is an immersion into the creative process of theatre. Young people with a passion for this art form learn about theatre-making from professional actors, administrators, directors, and technicians, as well as their peers. 

Instructor: More than 20 IRT Professionals!

Auditions: Auditioners should prepare a 1-2 minute monologue and bring a photo the IRT can keep on file. Call (317) 635-5277 after 2/1/10 to schedule an audition. Auditions for 2010 Summer Conservatory for Youth in Acting and Production, ages 8-18 will be held March 10th, March 11th and 22nd, from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.

Conservatory:
Ages 8 - 10: June 14 - July 2, 9:00am - 3:30pm |  $700
Ages 11 - 18: June 14 - July 9, 9:00am - 4:00pm |  $875
A limited number of need-based scholarships and payment plans are available.

Acting Track Students: training in acting, voice, movement, Shakespeare, creative dramatics, dance for theatre and playwriting. Program will culminate to a public performance on their final day.

Production Track Students: training in stage management, directing, lighting, scenic design, costumes, properties and playwriting. Students will also create individual production projects that will be exhibited at the acting conservatory public performances.

Mission Statement: To develop and train young talent in a supportive community setting- To provide an immersion into the creative process of theatre- To explore theatre as a collaborative art form that requires discipline and commitment- To provide youth with access to professional actors, administrators, directors, designers, playwrights, and technicians on a daily basis.
