"scrooge gives back" at the IRT
Indianapolis — On Friday, November 13 the Indiana Repertory Theatre (IRT) welcomes the community to take part in Scrooge Gives Back, a gift-giving opportunity alongside partners Indiana Blood Center, Toys for Tots and Gleaners Food Bank and sponsored by Anthem, Inc.
Indiana Blood Center staff will be located in the Grand Lobby of the IRT assisting donors who wish to give blood from 3 PM to 7 PM.
“Holidays are a slow time for blood donations because people are especially busy. However, the need for blood doesn’t take a holiday. Patients are still in the hospital and needing transfusions,” Dotti Laas, Blood Program Consultant for the Indiana Blood Center.
As a thank you, the IRT is offering those who donate blood, food or toys one free ticket to select A Christmas Carol performances, with the opportunity to purchase up to four additional tickets at half-price. The IRT will also provide backstage tours upon request.
“A Christmas Carol tells the story of Ebenezer Scrooge who finds hope during a dark time in his life. Our goal is to assist in providing this same hope during the holiday season and to celebrate the power of kindness and love,” said Janet Allen, IRT’s executive artistic director.
Donated toys must be unused and unwrapped and food must be unopened and non-perishable.
