Event Street Closures

  • Total closure of the South Half of Monument Circle will be in effect on July 8th from 8AM to 2PM for the Original Farmers’ Market.
    • This total closure will repeat every Wednesday until September 23.
  • NEW: Total closure of the northeast quad of Monument Circle will be in effect on July 15 from 9AM to 2PM for S’mores on the Circle.
  • NEW: Total closure of the southeast quad of Monument Circle will be in effect on July 16 from 7AM to 2PM for Ice Cream Social.
  • NEW: Total closure of New York Street between University Boulevard and Barnhill Drive will be in effect on July 17 from 10AM to 11PM for IBE Music Heritage Festival.
  • NEW: Total closure of Massachusetts Avenue between Park Avenue and East Street will be in effect on July 18 from 7AM to 6PM for Mass Ave Summerfest.

Local Street Closures

  • Total closure of I-70 Entrance Ramp from Madison Avenue will be in effect starting June 19 for approximately 1 month for pavement patching.
  • Total closure of Monument Circle northwest quad will be in effect starting June 1 for SPARK on the Circle.
  • Partial closure of Capitol Avenue between Washington Street and Maryland Street for approximately 6 weeks beginning May 31 for the Signia Hotel construction.
    • Maryland Street closures
      • Two eastbound lanes will remain open during the day.
      • One eastbound lane will remain open during the night.
    • Washington Street closures
      • Two westbound lanes will remain open during the day.
      • One westbound lane will remain open during the day.
    • Partial closure of the north side of the Capitol Avenue and Washington Street intersection will be in effect starting July 5.
    • Partial closure of West Market Street eastbound lane between Capitol Avenue and Illinois Street will be in effect due to the Capitol Avenue closure for the West Market reconstruction project.
  • Full closure of Illinois Street between South Street and Georgia Street.
    • The detour will route cars to circle in a loop south on Capitol Avenue and north on Meridian Street.
    • Cross streets at South Street is open.
    • Full closure of Georgia Street between Illinois Street and Capitol Avenue indefinitely.
  • Full closure of Capitol Avenue between Maryland Street and South Street until further notice.
  • Multiple partial closures are in place until further notice for the Ritz Carlton Hotel and Live Nation Music Venue construction: 
    • Georgia Street south lane between Scioto Street and Pennsylvania Street.
    • Scioto Street between Louisiana Street and Georgia Street.
    • Westernmost Pennsylvania Street southbound lane between Georgia Street and South Street.
    • The project is anticipated to take 35 months until completion

 


Indiana University Health Closures

  • Capitol Avenue between 16th Street and 14th Street is now open.
  • Closures for new hospital construction as of July 13:
    • Total closure of Senate Avenue between 16th Street and 12th Street.
    • Total closure of Missouri Street between 15th Street and 13th Street.
    • Total closure of 15th Street between Missouri Street and Parking Garage.
    • Total closure of 14th Street between Missouri Street and Capitol Avenue.
    • Total closure of 13th Street between Missouri Street and Capitol Avenue.
    • Total closure of Byram Place between 15th Street and 16th Street.
  • Intermittent lane impacts until further notice:
    • 16th Street between Senate Avenue and Capitol Avenue due to construction activity.
    • 12th Street between Senate Avenue and Capitol Avenue due to material deliveries.
  • Closures for pedestrian trail construction until further notice:
    • Partial closure of Missouri Street eastern-most northbound lane between 15th Street and 16th street for trail construction.

Blue Line Construction

  • Partial closure of Washington Street between Holt Road and Rockville Road will be in effect through mid 2028.
  • Partial closure of Washington Street between Rockville Road and Tibbs Avenue will be in effect for approximately two weeks beginning June 22.
  • Partial closure of Washington Street between Rockville Road and White River Parkway will be in effect through mid 2028.
  • Partial closure of Washington Street between Alabama Street and Southeastern Avenue will be in effect after June 22 for station construction.
  • Partial closure of Washington Street between Parkview Avenue and Hendricks Place will be in effect after May 14 for underground storm water facility construction.
  • Partial closure of Washington Street between State Avenue and Emerson Street will be in effect for storm sewer construction at the intersection of Washington Street and State Avenue.
  • Partial closure of Washington Street between Emerson Street and Ritter Avenue will be in effect for approximately 160 days beginning June 22 for storm sewer construction.
  • Partial closure of Washington Street between Shadeland Avenue and Post Road will be in effect for storm sewer and sidewalk construction.
  • Partial closure of Washington Street between Post Road and Woodlark Drive will be in effect for station foundation construction, with intersections of Cherry Tree Plaza and Mitthoefer Road seeing intermittent partial closures for traffic signal installation and updates.
