IRT Welcomes New Director of Production

Ben Jones will help bolster and expand the Theatre’s aspirations

IHeadshot of Ben Jones.ndianapolis, Ind.— As the Indiana Repertory Theatre opens its 54th Season, the Theatre has hired Ben Jones as its new Director of Production. Jones will bring many years of experience in theatres across the country to help support the IRT’s co-CEOs Benjamin Hanna and Suzanne Sweeney to lead productions from planning phases to the stage.

“Ben Jones has built an impressive career working across the country at some of the finest theatres in the field,” said Benjamin Hanna, Margot Lacy Eccles Artistic Director at the Theatre. “As we build the future of IRT, Ben will be an important part of strengthening how we work, expanding what we’re capable of, and positioning the Theatre for continued growth and artistic ambition. I’m excited to see where his leadership takes us and how, together, we can move IRT to new heights.”

Prior to this role, Jones served as Director of Production at The Harris Theater of Music and Dance in Chicago, where he oversaw more than 100 events, performances, and productions a year ranging in scope from community-based companies to national and international touring acts. He has also served as Production Manager at both Goodman Theatre in Chicago and Oregon Shakespeare Festival, leading the day-to-day management of their large productions. Ben is a graduate of the MFA program in Technical Design and Production at the Yale School of Drama.
