Sept. 17 - Nov. 17 College Avenue bridge closed
On or after Sept. 17, the College Avenue bridge over Fall Creek will close for necessary deck and sidewalk repairs. The bridge is expected to reopen by Nov. 17. During this closure, Indy DPW recommends that commuters to Downtown use the suggested alternative routes to best avoid the nearby construction activity along Meridian Street at 28th Street and at the Central Avenue bridge over Fall Creek.
Wednesday, Sept. 19
The Original Farmers' Market at the City Market continues its season. Market Street will be closed between Alabama and Delaware streets 8 a.m. –2 p.m. every Wednesday through October.
Workout Wednesdays presented by Anthem Blue Cross and Shield returns to Georgia Street. The south lane of the west block of Georgia Street (between Illinois Street and Capitol Avenue) will be closed 12 – 1 p.m. every Wednesday through Sept. 26.
Thursday, Sept. 20
The center block of Georgia Street (between Meridian and Illinois streets) will be closed 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. for IMPD Downtown District Community Day.
The west block of Georgia Street will be closed 12 – 9 p.m. for Downtown Indy Inc.’s Silver Shindig.
Friday, Sept. 21
The north half and spoke of Monument Circle will be closed from 1 p.m. – 1 a.m. for Monument Circle Oktoberfest.
Monument Circle and spokes will be closed 2 - 7:30 p.m. for the Circle City Classic Pep Rally.
The southwest quad of Monument Circle will be closed 10:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. for Car Free Day.
Michigan Street from Meridian to Pennsylvania streets will be closed 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. for National POW/MIA Recognition Day.
Saturday, Sept. 22
Ohio Street between Blackford and Herron parking lot will be partially closed from 6 a.m. – 10 p.m. and Blackford Street south of New York Street will be closed for the IUPUI Regatta.
Market Street between Delaware and Alabama streets will be closed 5 a.m. – 1 p.m. for the Ovarian Cancer Run & Walk. Market Street between Delaware Street and Capitol Avenue and the south half of Monument Circle will also be closed 8 – 11 a.m.
Due to the Walk to Defeat ALS, New York Street will result in partial closures. See the route here.
The Circle City Classic Parade will take place along the Downtown parade route from 12 - 2 p.m. The following roads will be closed for the parade. Closures may last from 6 a.m. – 5 p.m., as needed.

Vermont, North, St. Clair, 9th, St. Joseph and 11th streets between Illinois and Delaware streets
Ohio Street between Illinois and Delaware streets and Senate Avenue and West Street
New York Street between Pennsylvania and Illinois streets
Michigan Street between Pennsylvania and Meridian streets
Walnut Street between Illinois and Meridian streets and Pennsylvania and Delaware
Ft. Wayne Avenue between North and Walnut/Delaware streets
Pierson Street between Vermont and New York streets
South Street between Capitol Avenue and Missouri Street will be closed 6 a.m. – 1 a.m. Sunday for theCircle City Fan Fest.
The Peace Run will result in partial closures throughout the Herron-Morton Place neighborhood 8:45-10:10 a.m. Traffic heading into Downtown via Central and College avenues and 16th and 17th Streets may be impacted.
Sunday, Sept. 23
The Indiana AIDS Walk result in partial closures throughout the Herron-Morton Place neighborhood 4:30-6 p.m. Traffic heading into Downtown via Alabama or 16th streets may be impacted.
The Maroon 5 concert will cause increased traffic around Bankers Life Fieldhouse Thursday night.
Oliver Avenue between White River Parkway West Drive and Kentucky Avenue will be closed through November 2019 for bridge reconstruction.
Meridian Street at 28th Street and 29th Street between Illinois and Pennsylvania streets will be closed through Oct. 31 for the DigIndy tunnel project. Southbound detour is 30th Street to Capitol Avenue. Northbound detour is Fall Creek Parkway to Illinois Street.
Meridian Street from 18th Street to 38th Street will have roadway improvements through December for the IndyGo Red Line. Expect traffic pattern adjustments and turn restrictions. Construction will reduce vehicle travel to one lane in each direction. The travel lane restrictions also reduce parking and left turns in some portions of the construction area. Crews will focus on the west side of Meridian Street first, then move to the east side. Visit www.indygored.com
