New: Big Ten Football Championship Game Closures

  • The west block of Georgia Street will be partially closed from 8:00 a.m. on Friday, December 2 to 1:00 a.m. on Sunday, December 4.
  • Missouri Street between McCarty and South Streets will be partially closed from 6:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 3 to 1:00 a.m. on Sunday, December 4.
  • South Street between Capitol Avenue and Missouri Street will be completely closed from 6:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 1 to 1:00 a.m. on Sunday, December 4.
  • Capitol Avenue between Maryland and South Streets will experience rolling closures from 6:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 3 until 1:00 a.m. on Sunday, December 4.
     


Local Street closures  

  • New: South Street will be closed from 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 28 to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 29 for Touchdown Town.
  • Beginning Monday, November 21, Cleveland Street will experience a total closure between Allegheny and Michigan Streets until Saturday, December 19 for the Athenaeum’s Christkindlmarkt. 
  • Meridian Street from Arizona Street to just south of Morris Street is closed until further notice for Old Southside neighborhood improvements.
  • West Market Street between Monument Circle and Illinois Street is closed to east-bound traffic until further notice.
     



NORTH SPLIT  

  • The North Split is closed until further notice.
    • I-70 westbound and I-65 northbound traffic is now being redirected across the median onto the new flyover bridge. Click here for a more in-depth look at how this shift will impact transportation.
    • Traffic heading from I-65 southbound to I-70 eastbound is still being directed over the new flyover bridge.
  • I-65 southbound collector/distributor (C/D) ramp will be restricted to one lane until further notice to allow for structure reconstruction.
  • The I-70 westbound/I-65 southbound collector/distributor (C/D) ramp to Ohio Street is closed until further notice. The newly constructed C/D exit to Michigan Street will remain open during the Ohio Street ramp closure.

IU health closures

  • Closures for IU School of Medicine construction work:
    • Until further notice, the roundabout will be reduced from two lanes to one for reconfiguration work. 
      • Channeling devices will direct traffic as needed.
    • A permanent closure of 15th Street between Senate Avenue and just east of the circle drive is in place.
  • Closures for building demolition and utility work until further notice:
    • Intermittent lane closures are expected along Lafayette Street between Anderson and 14th Streets.
  • Closures for the School of Medicine Medical Education Building project until further notice:
    • 15th Street will close beginning November 11 as the project breaks ground.
    • The roundabout will be reduced from two lanes to one for Circle Drive realignment
  • Closures for construction activities until further notice:
    • The 13th Street and Senate Avenue intersection remains closed.
  • Closures for Capitol View construction until further notice:
    • New: Impacts to the north and southbound IndyGo Red Line lane are expected along Capitol Avenue between 16th and 14th streets.
    • Lane restrictions are expected along 14th Street between Capitol Avenue and Byram Place due to material deliveries. Flaggers will direct traffic as needed.
    • Full closure along 15th Street between Capitol Avenue and Byram Place.
    • Full closure along Bryam Place between 16th Street and 15th Street.
  • Closures for Ring Road construction until further notice:
    • Full closure along Missouri Street, just south of the west Neuroscience Center garage entrance to 14th Street.
  • Closures for new hospital construction until further notice:
    • Full closures along Anderson and 15th streets between Senate and Capitol avenues.
    • Intermittent lane closures are expected along Senate Avenue between 14th Street and 16th Street, but two-way traffic will be maintained.
