Youth Auditions
Youth actor (under 18) auditions will occur August 17th from 6:30-8pm at Indiana Repertory Theatre.
We are casting youth actors for A Christmas Carol.
Character description and participation requirements are below.
A Christmas Carol
There are three youth roles available in A Christmas Carol: two for TINY TIM/BOY SCROOGE/OTHERS, one for BETSY/YOUNG FAN/OTHERS. (Youth actors are on an alternating show schedule, and one Betsy has been cast.) These actors play multiple additional characters in the show.
- Tiny Tim: 8-12 years old; any gender or ethnicity
- For the role of Tiny Tim, height must be near or under 4’11”
- Betsy/Older Sibling; 10-16 years old
- Must be able to attend rehearsals and performances as required
- Must be able to get permission from school to participate
Rehearsals take place Oct. 22 – Nov. 14, six days a week, Tuesday through Sunday. Rehearsal times vary. During the weekdays, youth rehearsals start after 3:30 PM but a few select school days may be missed in the rehearsal process. Young actors must be available for Saturday and Sunday full day rehearsals.
Performances begin Nov. 11 and close Dec. 26 and include many weekday student matinees, which will again require missing some school. Two teams of two young actors each will alternate performances. Only Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day are off around the holidays.
